Snedden is currently the CEO of Rugby New Zealand 2011 Limited.
Born in 1958
in Mount Eden,
Auckland,
Martin grew up a keen athlete, cricketer and rugby player. Becoming a first
class cricketer by the age of 19 he went on to play for New Zealand in
25 test matches and 93 ODI appearances during his cricketing career. The New
Zealand Cricket Almanack named him player of the year in 1982.
A lawyer by
profession, Martin took office as the CEO of New Zealand Cricket in 2001.
Having proven himself in the administrative arena, he stepped down from his
role at NZC in 2007 to become the head of the company running the 2011 Rugby
World Cup.
