Featuring Glen Campbell
Glen Campbell is a 60's country and pop star.
He was born in Arkansas in 1936 as one of twelve children. His father recognised that he had a natural musical talent and bought him his first guitar at age four. By the time young Glen was 10 years old, he had mastered the instrument and at age 16, he had left school and was pursuing a full-time career in music.
Within a couple of years, Campbell was touring the South as part of the ‘Western Wranglers'. He then headed to Los Angeles and worked as a session musician recording with some of the biggest names of that era. He can be heard on records by artists like Frank Sinatra, The Monkees, Elvis Priestley and the Mamas & the Papas. He also toured as a part of The Beach Boys during '64 and '65.
Best known for songs such as ‘Rhinestone Cowboy' and ‘Wichita Lineman', Glen has won numerous Grammies, Dove Awards and Academy of Country Music Awards and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
Glen loves spending time with his large family (his eldest daughter Debby even tours with him) and enjoys a good game of golf.
